Bursaries provide part or full remission of school fees to students entering Secondary School (Years 7-12) and are active participants in all aspects of their school life including, but not limited to, academia, sport, co-curricular and community service.
Bursaries are awarded to an external student based on their family’s financial situation. Hunter Valley Grammar School recognises that a Grammar School education is not within the means of all families and offers bursaries to assist external students to attend the School who, without financial support, would not be able to do so.
Bursaries are available to external students who will be enrolled in secondary school in 2017. Hunter Valley Grammar School encourages all families and students from the surrounding regions to apply for bursary relief.
Bursaries aim to provide students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity of a Grammar School education and all that it encompasses. We invite and receive Bursary applications on the basis of the Application, Scholarship Examination results, previous academic records, supporting personal information and an interview with the Principal.
Families wishing to be considered for a needs-based bursary for their child must be prepared to complete a Bursary Application form. This will require disclosure, in strict confidence, of the family’s financial situation, including copies of recent income tax returns.
All enquiries made are strictly confidential. Please click on the button below to obtain Bursary Guidelines and Application.
